Michael and Belinda
Michael
I appreciate the opportunity to play music with the love of my life, Belinda Morris.
Both my parents are musicians, and I received a full genetic dose of musicianship.
I pick up instruments, music, and most things I enjoy rather easily.
As a side note, I received my Ph.D. in Physics from Oklahoma State University in 1995 (and a M.S.E. engineering degree from UT Austin in 1997).
It's a long story, but it was fun.
I enjoy solving problems, and am employed at UT System as a Senior Application Development Analyst.
I love video games (as long as they are challenging), learning and performing.
Together (in addition to music)... Belinda and I enjoy dancing (Feb, 2018 now at Salsa level 2), hiking (nature, Enchanted Rock), and meeting wonderful people in love.
Most impressive performances to date:
3) The weddings in 2015 at which I played 2 harps at the same time.
2) The weddings in which were asked to surprise the groom by adding bagpipes to the performance (so I would switch from harp to bagpipes).
1) Any wedding in which we're asked to learn two or more new songs. We're happy to perform songs we know, but I'm always ready to try something new.
Most recent fun performance:
At Zachary and Victoria's wedding, Zachary afterwards told us both how important the music selections were to their wedding (with many new song selections), and how we 'nailed it'.
I fell in love with one of their selections 'Follow You Into the Dark' by 'Death Cab By Cutie'; it's definitely a new favorite. I'd like to add vocals to the song, but right now it makes me cry...
so we'll keep that one instrumental for now. :)
